Nintendo DS Lite White Touch Screen Display

The lower of the two LCD displays sported by the Nintendo DS Lite Polar White Console is touch sensitive. Use your fingers to navigate or, even better, use the stylus provided with the console to write messages or draw pictures which can be sent via PictoChat (see below for more details), control on-screen action or simply navigate menus more effectively.

PictoChat

PictoChat is a communication utility built into the Nintendo DS Lite White which takes advantage of the console's WiFi connection (see below for more details). Up to 16 users can connect wirelessly with eachother allowing for text or picture messaging. The DS Lite's touch screen is used to write messages using an onscreen QWERTY keyboard and a drawing pad is included above the keyboard which can be used to draw pictures.

Wireless Connectivity (WiFi)

The Nintendo DS Lite Polar White is WiFi enabled which allows users to connect, communicate and play games with eachother within a range of between 30 and 100 feet (9 and 30 metres). Many DS games also feature Single-Card Play which means only one user needs to own a copy of a game in order for a fellow user to join a multiplayer game session. The Nintendo DS Lite Polar White Console can also communicate with the Wii through its wireless connection.

Nintendo DS Lite Polar White Microphone

The built-in microphone in the Nintendo DS Lite White allows users to communicate with eachother over a WiFi network during gameplay as well as control games using voice commands.

Stereo Sound

The Nintendo DS Lite Polar White features stereo sound as standard and with surround sound an option on some games, players can truly immerse themselves in a world of atmospheric sound effects and vibrant music.

Backward Compatibility

All Game Boy Advance Game Paks are compatible with the Nintendo DS Lite Polar White Console using the 2nd GBA port at the front of the console. When the GBA port isn't in use a filler cartridge can be inserted which sits flush in the console and protects against dirt and dust finding its way into the system.
