Nintendo DS Lite In White Reviews

Okay, so the Nintendo DS Lite In White is an updated remake of the Nintendo DS; it definitely boosted up the popularity of this handheld console. Nintendo have totally re-done the design, for the better! Instead of the bulky, heavy look the original DS had, they made the Nintendo DS Lite White smaller and much more easy to hold. And what's more, they come in many other colours such as Pink (Which I have), Black, Navy blue and more.

... But that wasn't all they did to it, oh no, they've done more! They've done so much more that they even made the Nintendo DS Lite In White stylus taller and thicker to fit comfortably in your hand while playing games, and it's less likely to fall out of its slot and get lost; I must've lost my Original DS' stylus an extreme number of times and in the end had to buy a new one which dissapointed me.
Now onto the overall design, if you compare the Original DS and the Nintendo DS Lite In White without opening it to reveal the screens it's like looking at two different handheld systems. Clear transparent plastic is placed over the other piece of plastic which gives it a sleek, smooth look; it's a very Apple inspired feature I think.

To maintain this smooth, sleek look they even added a GBA filler cartridge which hides the deep slot where you put your GBA games in, it also keeps the slot clear from any grubby things and dust which is very handy. The only downside to the new GBA slot is that when you place your GBA Game into the slot, about a centimetre or two of the GBA Game cartridge sticks out, but it doesn't really interfere with your gaming experience (From what I've experienced anyway.)
If you owned the Nintendo DS you must've noticed that the microphone was in a very, very odd place; where you had to put your mouth at the bottom left hand corner to speak and look at the game at the same time, and due to the lighting on the DS it was very hard and uncomfortable for me, especially with games like Metroid Prime hunters. BUT, the microphone is now placed in the middle of the Nintendo DS Lite In White in between the two screens so it's much easier to play those games that allow the use of the microphone.

When you open the Nintendo DS Lite White you will not hear an annoying click when it jolts to the playable, comfortable position. Try to avoid pushing the DS lite's top screen the farthest it can go because I've seen many people who have complained that their Nintendo DS Lite In White had broken because of this. Now, the buttons! On the Original DS they were very clicky and everything was sorta... big, I guess, but the DS Lite's buttons are much more cushioney and very smooth, you can play for hours now without your hands hurting!

The power button is much easier to reach on the DS lite, it is placed on the right hand side of the DS lite and it springs back down when you turn it on/off, which for me makes a big difference!
Other things I haven't mentioned such as the Volume slider and the L and R back buttons are all in the same place and pretty much the same positioning as they were on the Original DS.

To be honest, I have only one bad comment to say about the Nintendo DS Lite In White. Is the GBA Slot. I praise Nintendo for this remake and it certainly has made a difference to my gaming experience.
And I've left the best until last, the screen brightness! The Nintendo DS Lite In White doesn't have just 2 lighting settings but 4! The first one is the highest the Original DS could go. But as you go up to the last brightness stage it completely demolishes the Original DS' brightness! It's so bright that even when you have the console pointing directly at the sun you can still see both screens clearly!
